Once there was a boy with bad temper. The teacher was too worried about his habit. So teacher planned to teach him a lesson.
Teacher gave him a bag of nails told him that every time he looses his temper, he must hammer a nail into the fence. The boy agreed to do so. Teacher gave him some motivational classes aswell.
On the first day, boy hammered 40 nails into the fence. Over the few next weeks, he learned to control his anger up to some extent. The number of nails hammered decreased day by day. Gradually, the boy started to feel it easy to control the anger than to hammer the nail on the fence.
Teacher was observing all this activity. So the Teacher called the boy to his office to check how well he has improved. Teacher was pretty convinced.
Now, teacher told the boy to pull one nail every time he was able to control his temper. Boy did as the teacher told and after few week, the boy went to the teacher’s room and told him that all the nails were removed.
The teacher took the boy by the hand and led him to the fence. He said “you have done well, but look at the holes in the fence. The fence will never be the same. When you say things in anger, they leave a scar just like this one.” You can put a knife in a man and draw it out. It won’t matter how many times you say I’m sorry, the wound is still there. Make sure you control your temper the next time you are tempted to say something you will regret later.
